1.Imagine yourself 5 years ago in comparison to the situation you are in today. Which achievements surprise you the most?
Knowing that in a few months, Sunken will be owning their own stove production unit in Kakuma.
2.What is your biggest success as an entrepreneur?
When it comes time to hire only the best people. It will take time, but it’s time well spent. Hire people who are smarter than you and have strengths that complement yours. People are one of your greatest investments in business and choosing the right ones will help propel your business to success. Hiring the wrong people, however, can quickly take you down.
3.What was a troubling time that you managed to overcome?
The COVID-19 pandemic was the time when the business faced challenges. We had not received any financial support at that moment and, with the restriction across the country, the business was facing closure due to cash flow. But, we did manage to overcome the 2-year period and were able to turn around sales as the locals were relying more on our cookstoves, which opened up the market for us.
