TRIEX provides collection, transport, and treatment of special and hazardous waste in Uruguay. The company has more than 200 customers mainly from the pharmaceutical, chemistry, and food industries. TRIEX also provides solutions for electric waste and electronic equipment processing, including mercury lamps, oriented to support public campaigns in changing obsolete equipment to more energy efficient ones.

TRIEX’ activities are circular-economy oriented. Great efforts to maximize reuse, recycling, composting, waste to energy, and material recuperation are done every day. TRIEX has developed local technologies for specific waste processing.

Social Impact

Originally developed in the 1990s, the idea behind the company is to promote waste management best (available) practices adapted to our country with continuous improvement. Founded in 2001, TRIEX focuses on practices related to environmental and work safety topics but also the economic sustainability of projects.

Through our evolution, we assume the advantages of a collective, flat organizational structure. From 2018, TRIEX has operated as aself-managed company.

Future Plans

Waste management is a very challenging activity: every new product, new material or new technology requires new ways to manage it when it becomes waste. Accordingly, TRIEX permanently dedicates a fraction of its time to developing solutions for new waste.

Specifically, our medium-term plans include growth in the liquid industrial waste sector and more alliances with companies that represent recycling solutions for waste fractions that are not used today.

Medium and large companies that need to manage their waste in addition to state organizations that establish systems for the collection of special waste requiring treatment generated in homes.
