1. What is your biggest success as an entrepreneur?

Our biggest success as a company is that we have granted more than a million people access to today’s most powerful tool for change: the internet. A survey conducted in Tanzania showed 45% of our users are, in fact, first time internet users, which shows how we have been able to carry out our vision of connecting the unconnected. Also, being able to partner with many different types of organizations, ranging from big-tech to governments, donors, NGOs and organizations like Siemens Stiftung has felt like a tremendous success for us and a validation of our work.

2. What was a turning point in your career as an entrepreneur / for you as an organization?

For BLUETOWN, a key milestone for us in the current expansion we are doing in Ghana. The expansion which will take our network to over 800 locations which give us the reach we need to deliver the impact we want as a company. We’ve fought hard to reach this milestone and gone through many hoops and loops, so finally seeing deployments of this scale taking place is truly a turning point.

3. What is the best thing about being a member of empowering people. Network?

The best thing about being member of the epNetwork is the network itself. Siemens Stiftung has managed to gather a diverse and brilliant group of organizations that share many challenges and motivations. Bringing us together in a trusted and competent frame really allows us all to grow. Moreover, epNetwork’s quick adaption to the new realities of life during COVID-19 has underlined the agility of the Network in terms of catering the pressing needs of its member organizations.
